At 11 : 20 on August 24,2023, the exterior wall insulation material of Zhongxin Building in Shijiazhuang City caught fire. When the fire rescue team arrived, the fire on the exterior wall of the building was fierce. After fire reconnaissance, it was found that the fire on the 15 th floor was lit. Firefighters used the floor fixed fire hose to extinguish the fire, and then cooled the scene to control the fire on the 15 th floor in time to curb the upward spread of the fire. Due to the external wall thermal insulation materials in the open fire and high temperature burning, fire hydrant and automatic sprinkler system water consumption, fire pool water level dropped rapidly, the commander immediately arrange fire engines through the pump connector water supply, and organize the municipal water supply main line to the fire pool water supply. After full firefighting, the fire was basically controlled at 13 : 30. At 16 : 50, the open fire on the outer wall was all extinguished, and the residents in the building were safely evacuated without casualties.

I Structure composition of fire water supply system
When building fires, especially high-rise buildings and other places of fire, fire water must be fully guaranteed. Building fire water supply system provides reliable fire water for fire extinguishing systems such as fire hydrants and automatic sprinkler systems, which can be used immediately when building fires occur and play a key role in the initial fire control and rescue. In fact, countless small fires are put out by fire water supply systems and sprinkler systems in the initial stage, preventing the fire from developing to the stage of roaring, greatly reducing the risk of loss of life and property during building fires.
2Fire Water Supply System
The fire water supply system is mainly composed of fire water source, water supply facilities, pipe network valves and so on.Fire water sources are water sources that point to water extinguishing facilities, vehicle or hand-carried mobile fire pumps, and fixed fire pumps to provide fire water,including municipal water supply, fire pool, fire water tank and natural water source. Water supply facilities include fire pumps, pressure stabilizing equipment, water pump control cabinets, water pump adapters, etc.
II Water supply mode of fire water supply system
According to whether the system pressure and flow state meet the needs of water fire extinguishing facilities when the fire does not occur, the fire water supply system is divided into normal high pressure, temporary high pressure and low pressure system.
The constant high pressure fire water supply system is directly supplied by the municipal pipe network and the high fire pool, which always maintains the working pressure and flow required to meet the water fire extinguishing facilities, and does not need the fire pump to directly pressure the water supply when a fire occurs.
The temporary high-pressure fire water supply system can not meet the working pressure or flow required by the water fire extinguishing facilities at ordinary times. The pressure stabilizing equipment maintains the water supply pressure at the most unfavorable point. When a fire occurs, the fire water pump is automatically activated to provide the working pressure and flow required to meet the water fire extinguishing facilities.
The low-pressure fire water supply system meets the working pressure and flow required for water intake and fire extinguishing such as fire trucks or hand-held pumps.
In the fire scene, the constant high pressure and temporary high pressure systems do not need to be pressurized by fire engines or mobile water pumps, and are directly connected by fire hydrant outlet belts to meet the requirements of water gun outlet fire extinguishing.

III Fire safety precautions
1.Low-pressure fire water supply system should be used outside the building, generally using municipal water supply network ;
2.High-pressure or temporary high-pressure fire water supply system should be used in the building room, and should not be combined with the production and living water supply system ;
3.When the high pressure or temporary high pressure fire water supply system is used outside the building, it should be combined with the indoor fire water supply system ;
4.High pressure or temporary high pressure fire water supply system should be used in process plant area, storage tank area and other structures ;
5.Low-pressure fire water supply system should be used in yards and other structures ;
6.The independent outdoor temporary high-pressure fire water supply system should adopt the pressure stabilizing pump to maintain the water filling and pressure of the system.
